Wat Phra Singh Worawihan, also known as Wat Phra Singh, is one of the most important and revered temples in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It is home to the sacred Buddha image of Phra Singh (Phra Phuttha Sihing), which is considered the center of the faith and devotion of the people of Chiang Mai. The temple is famous for its beautiful Lanna architecture and intricate stucco patterns, as well as its rich cultural and historical significance.

Phra Singh Worawihan temple was built in 1888 by King Phaya Pha Yu of the Mangrai Dynasty and was originally constructed to house the ashes of his father, Phaya Khamfu. The main hall of the temple is a rectangular building with a porch on the front and back, decorated in true Lanna style with intricate stucco patterns, gilded lacquer sculptures, and large windows in the form of slats. The Hor Trai building is also a notable feature of the temple, with its half-timbered design and stucco gods made in the form of Thep Phanom Yuen.

Wihan Lai Kham is another important part of the temple, known for its beautiful and intricate stucco patterns and northern art style. The interior of the Wihan houses the main Buddha image, Phra Phuttha Sihing, surrounded by gold patterns on red backgrounds and intricate sculptures of dragons, swans, and castles. The northern wall of the viharn also features paintings written on the golden conch, depicting the story of Suwannahong and the unique tale of Sangthong.

Every year, during the Songkran festival or New Year's Eve festival, the government brings the Buddha Sihing out of the temple and parades it around the city on a Busabok, allowing people to pay their respects and bathe the statue in water. According to Lanna tradition, people born in the Year of the Dragon must pay homage to Phra Singh at least once in their lives.
